Patisar Rabindra Kachharibari

Patisar in Atrai upazila was the headquarters of the Tagore family's Kaligram estate, and Rabindranath visited regularly from 1891 onwards, arriving by houseboat along the Nagar river. Here he experimented with rural development, setting up an agricultural bank funded partly by his Nobel Prize money and a school named after his son Rathindranath.

The two-storey kachharibari has been restored as a museum, displaying furniture, photographs, letters and personal items associated with the poet. The tranquil village setting, with the river behind the house, helps visitors imagine the landscapes that inspired many of his poems and stories. Celebrations are held here on his birth anniversary in Baishakh.
