Joypurhat
A quiet border district of sugar cane, potatoes and old zamindar houses
Joypurhat is a small, mostly rural district along the Indian border, best known for its sugar mill and fertile farmland. It has a sombre Liberation War memorial at Pagla Dewan and a few crumbling zamindar estates, and it lies close enough to Paharpur to combine with a trip there.
