The Church of the Epiphany, better known as the Oxford Mission Church, was built in the early 20th century by the Anglican Oxford Mission, which has worked in Barishal since the late 1800s. It is one of the largest and most beautiful churches in Bangladesh.

The tall red-brick building with its long nave and rows of arches looks especially striking against the palms and lawns around it. Inside, the high, simple interior is cool and calm, with a wooden altar and a sense of quiet devotion. The mission compound also runs schools and a hostel. Visitors are generally welcome outside service times if they ask at the gate and keep a respectful manner.
