Nayabad Mosque
A small three-domed Mughal mosque of 1793 near the Dhepa river, decorated with terracotta panels.
Nayabad Mosque sits in a quiet village in Kaharole upazila, a short distance from Kantajew Temple. An inscription dates it to 1793, during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. Local tradition says it was built by Muslim craftsmen who had come to work on the temple and settled here afterwards.
The building is modest in size, with three domes, three arched entrances and an octagonal tower at each corner. Much of its charm lies in the surviving terracotta panels with floral and creeper designs set into the walls. It is still used for daily prayers, so the setting feels lived-in rather than museum-like, with paddy fields and village paths all around.
