The Muhuri Project is a large irrigation and flood-control scheme on the Feni river in Sonagazi upazila, about 18 km from Feni town. A long closure dam and a 40-gate regulator hold back a broad reservoir where the Feni, Muhuri and Kalidas-Pahalia rivers meet before reaching the sea.

The embankment has become a favourite outing spot, with boat rides on the reservoir, fishing, roadside food stalls and wide-open views. In winter, migratory birds gather on the water and mudflats, and sunsets over the estuary are broad and colourful. Nearby wind and solar power installations add to the unusual landscape.

How to go

From Feni town (Mohipal or Trunk Road) take a CNG to Muhuri Project (≈40-50 min; 60-80 BDT shared or 500-700 BDT reserved round trip).
