Lebur Char
A mangrove-fringed point west of Kuakata, popular for sunsets, red crabs and grilled seafood.
Lebur Char, sometimes called Lebur Bon, lies about 5 km west of Kuakata's Zero Point, where the beach meets the mouth of a river channel facing the Fatrar Char forest. A patch of coastal forest and the tangled roots of mangrove trees give the place a different character from the open main beach.
In the late afternoon visitors gather on the sand to watch the sun sink beyond the river mouth and the forest across the water. Swarms of red crabs dart into their holes as you approach. Simple stalls grill crabs, prawns and fish to order, and a watchtower offers a wider view. It is also a convenient point for trawler trips across to Fatrar Char.
