Mymensingh
Old Brahmaputra town of palaces, ballads and monda
Mymensingh grew up on the banks of the Old Brahmaputra and still carries the grace of its zamindar past in Shashi Lodge and the palaces of Muktagachha. The city is home to the Bangladesh Agricultural University and the museum of painter Zainul Abedin, and the wider region gave Bengal the famous Mymensingh Gitika ballads.
