Kurigram

Where the Brahmaputra enters Bangladesh, wide and wild

Kurigram is a far-north river district laced by the Brahmaputra, Dharla, Teesta and Dudhkumar. Its landscape is one of vast sandbanks, ferry ghats and riverside villages, and it is the setting of the folk song about the bhawaiya-singing boatmen of Chilmari. Tourism is modest, but the river scenery is striking in autumn and winter.
