Habiganj
Forests, tea hills and the gateway to the haors
Habiganj is often treated as a stop on the road to Sylhet, but it rewards a slower look. The Satchari and Rema-Kalenga forests shelter gibbons and langurs, Teliapara tea estate holds a key chapter of the 1971 Liberation War, and to the west the vast haors around Baniachong hide centuries-old shrines and mosques.
Habiganj is famous for
Satchari National Park
Tea gardens of Chunarughat and Madhabpur
Teliapara Liberation War memorial
Baniachong, one of the largest villages in the world
Natural gas fields
